Refund FAQ
How do I know my refund was processed?
You can verify that a refund was processed successfully on the "Products" page of your AppSumo account.
- Next to the the navigation bar on any AppSumo page, use the drop down icon in the top right corner (next to the cart)
- Select "Products" from the dropdown menu (or head to the “Products” tile from your account overview)
- Use the "Filter" dropdown menu in the top right corner to select "Refunded"
Once you see the product on this list, your refund has been processed!
How long will my refund take?
Refunds are immediate on our part; however, please note your payment processor may take longer to post the funds in your account.
If you paid with PayPal, you should receive an email from PayPal letting you know of the refund right away. You can also check your PayPal account to see it.
If you paid with a debit/credit card, please allow your bank 5 to 10 business days (Monday - Friday, excluding holidays) to post the funds. If you requested a refund within 24 hours of purchasing a product, it may be processed as a purchase reversal instead of a refund and disappear from your statement rather than post as a charge and return.
If you paid with AppSumo credits, they are instantly returned to your AppSumo account upon refunding! You can review your credit balance in the "Credits" tile of your account and you’ll see the option to apply your credits to your next purchase at checkout.
Can I cancel a refund?
There's "buyer's remorse," and then there's "refund remorse."
At AppSumo, refunds are final. Once you submit a refund request, the money leaves our account, and your access to the tool will be deactivated. If the product is no longer available for purchase on AppSumo, our contract with the partner has expired and we cannot sell any more copies of the product. Please be mindful of this when refunding your purchases (we suggest you do a double-take or two).
Additionally, once a refund is processed, the refund payment cannot be changed from the original form of payment that was selected during your refund.
Can I get a refund in AppSumo credits?
For some purchases, you may see the option to refund your payment in AppSumo credits (our exchange rate is 1 ASC = 1 USD).
However, not all purchases are eligible for this alternative refund method. If you have any questions regarding AppSumo credit refunds and purchase eligibility, please reach out to our team at support@appsumo.com and we’ll be happy to help!
Is everything refundable?
The Refund policy for any refundable product sale is a full refund of the purchase price within 60-days from the date of purchase for any reason.
Please note that some listings, such as digital downloads, cannot be returned or refunded. You can check the Deal Terms section of each listing to confirm if the tool is eligible for our money-back guarantee. Be sure to check each Product listing so you know when you are eligible for a refund.
Additionally, after membership rewards have been used, your AppSumo Plus membership is non-refundable.
Can I recieve a refund if I didn't use or redeem/active my tool?
Refunds for unredeemed or unused tools will not be provided outside our refund window. AppSumo encourages customers to redeem and/or activate their purchases within the refund window in order to decide whether or not the product is a good fit.
Is there such a thing as too many refunds?
AppSumo reserves the right to limit, suspend, or terminate your account if you seek refunds for an excessive number of your purchases.
