Working with Persona means that the products listed on AppSumo are backed by credible companies and individuals that have our same goal: offering incredible tools for entrepreneurs.

With Persona, we can:

  1. Verify that the businesses we partner with are legally registered and compliant.
  2. Confirm that individuals representing those businesses are authentic and trustworthy.
  3. Maintain a secure and reliable marketplace for our customers.

How Do We Verify Partners?

We use two types of verification through Persona:

  1. Know Your Business (KYB) Verification

This step confirms that the companies offering products on AppSumo are legitimate. During KYB verification, partners provide details about their businesses, such as:

  • Business name and registration number
  • Proof of incorporation or registration
  • Tax identification information

Persona cross-checks these details against trusted databases and global records to ensure the business is genuine and compliant with regulations.

  1. Know Your Customer (KYC) Verification

KYC verification focuses on the individuals behind the business. This ensures that the person signing up to partner with us is who they claim to be. The KYC process includes:

  • Submitting personal identification (e.g., passport, driver’s license)
  • Matching their identity through secure methods, like facial recognition
