How to Ask for Honest Reviews
Getting reviews for your tool is one of the most impactful ways to gain momentum during your campaign, especially during launch week. At AppSumo, we encourage Partners to ask for ⭐ honest ⭐ reviews from all new customers who have purchased their deal. This can be done across multiple platforms → see below!
🗣️ Please note: Incentivizing for reviews (even honest ones) is a violation of our Partner Terms. We always want to make sure that reviews are written by honest customers, without an agenda.
Offering any kind of incentives for reviews (credits, higher tiers, gift cards, etc.) could lead to the removal of all reviews on your product page and your indefinite delisting.
🤔 Where to Ask:
- You can ask for reviews on your deal’s product page within the text of your ‘From the founders’ post.
- You can ask for reviews after you’ve resolved a support issue for them (either through your company’s support email or in the questions section on your deal’s product page).
- You can ask for reviews through social media: on Instagram, Facebook, Discord, Twitter, etc.
- You can ask for reviews by sending a welcome email to all new customers who have purchased your deal.
- Since you should be capturing a Sumo-ling’s email address in your redemption flow, this will allow you to create an email sequence that you can use to periodically remind your new customer how grateful you are to those who write an honest review.
